How To Perform A Diving Cross-Body Rake

  1. Stand balanced with your knees slightly bent.
  2. Set a clipper straight up and slightly above head height.
  3. As the footbag rises, move your head to the opposite side of the footbag before ducking underneath its path.
  4. Keep your eyes on the footbag as it passes overhead and begins to fall.
  5. Continue turning your hips into position for the cross-body rake.
  6. Position your toe behind the support leg and sweep the footbag from behind the leg back across your body.
  7. Finish on a controlled toe stall.

Tips For Learning

Set High

Set the footbag high enough to give yourself time to dive underneath it and prepare for the Leg Over and rake.

Move Before You Duck

Move your head to the opposite side of the footbag before ducking underneath its path, then quickly spot it as it begins to fall.

Finish With The Rake

Stay balanced position your toe behind the support leg to sweep the footbag back across your body.
