How To Perform A Symposium Butterfly

  1. Start from a controlled toe or clipper stall.
  2. Set the bag upward and toward your centerline.
  3. Quickly plant your dexing leg as you lift your stalling foot off the ground.
  4. Jump over the footbag as it falls with your stalling foot still off the ground.
  5. Continue turning your hips into clipper position.
  6. Catch the bag on a clean clipper stall behind the support/dexing leg.

Master Butterfly First

A solid Butterfly makes landing a Symposium Butterfly dramatically easier.

Practice Without A Footbag

Try to hop on one foot without the footbag to gain strength.

Turn Into The Catch

Rotate your hips and shoulders toward clipper position before the stall.
