Dexterity Cross-Body Delay

The Drifter is one of freestyle footbag's most important tricks. It combines a toe set, an opposite leg-over dexterity, and a clipper stall. Mastering Butterfly opens the door to advanced links, runs, and competitive freestyle play.

How To Perform A Drifter

  1. Start from a controlled clipper stall.
  2. Set the bag upward and toward the opposite side of your body.
  3. As the bag rises, use the opposite leg to perform an in-to-out dexterity around the bag.
  4. Complete the dexterity and bring that same foot around into clipper position.
  5. Continue moving across your body toward the opposite side from the original clipper set.
  6. Catch the bag on a clean clipper stall on the opposite side, completing the Drifter.

Tips For Learning

Master Mirage First

A solid Mirage makes learning Drifter dramatically easier.

Set Close To Your Body

Keep the set controlled. Large sets make the dexterity much harder.

Turn Into The Catch

Rotate your hips and shoulders toward clipper position before the stall.
