Demonstration of a Phoenix Rake.

How To Perform A Phoenix Rake

  1. Start a higher than normal Pixie set by setting the bag upward and immediately circling the bag with the same foot in an in-to-out dexterity.
  2. Plant the Pixie leg and transfer your weight smoothly while you duck under the footbag.
  3. Continue directly into the Butterfly dexterity as the bag descends.
  4. Instead of finishing on a clipper stall, position your toe behind the support leg for a cross-body rake.
  5. Catch the bag on the toe and sweep it from behind the support leg back to the front of your body.
  6. Finish on a controlled toe stall to complete the final dexterity.

Master Phoenix

If you can hit Phoenix consistently, adding the Rake finish becomes much easier.

Learn Cross-Body Rakes

Stay Compact
