How To Perform A Rooted Clipper

  1. Stand balanced with your knees slightly bent.
  2. Turn your support shoulder toward the bag as it descends.
  3. Keep your stalling foot planted on the ground behind your support leg.
  4. Raise the inside edge of the planted foot to create the clipping surface.
  5. Cushion the bag by slightly bending your knee and ankle as it lands.
  6. Complete the stall without lifting the stalling foot off the ground.

Tips For Learning

Keep It Planted

The stalling foot stays on the ground throughout the catch. Focus on creating the surface without lifting your foot.

Open Your Hips

Turn your hips and shoulders sideways to give the bag a clear path to the clipping surface.

Soften the Catch

Absorb the bag's impact with a slight bend in your knee and ankle to improve control and prevent rebounds.
